Rat Poison (2025) by Mina Kaya


Working with director Mina Kaya, I designed several backgrounds for this short film about trauma and the process of healing. To match the heavy theme, we used a raw approach with loose, expressive brushstrokes to create a sense of being stuck and overwhelmed.

In samenwerking met regisseur Mina Kaya ontwierp ik de achtergronden voor deze korte film over trauma en heling. Passend bij het zware thema kozen we voor een ruwe uitstraling met losse, expressieve penseelstreken om het gevoel van beklemming te versterken.

Clash of Shapes (2024) by Marlon Pieter


For Marlon Pieter’s Clash of Shapes, a film featuring spectacular fights between geometric characters, I created a series of detailed backgrounds. These include a desert landscape with rocky formations and an intricate pyramid, focusing on sharp lines and depth.

Voor Clash of Shapes van Marlon Pieter, een film waarin geometrische karakters spectaculair met elkaar vechten, maakte ik een reeks gedetailleerde achtergronden. Denk aan rotspartijen in de woestijn en een complexe piramide, waarbij de focus lag op scherpe lijnen en diepte.

Backgrounds for my graduation film at St. Joost. A 2D short about growing up, where I used my personal style to create a nostalgic and expressive world.

Otterwise (2022)



For this short film about an otter finding its way home, I focused on natural landscapes. The scenery was heavily inspired by the lush, painted backgrounds of Bambi. 

Voor deze korte film over een otter die de weg naar huis zoekt, lag de focus op natuurlijke landschappen. De stijl is sterk geïnspireerd door de geschilderde achtergronden van Bambi.
